At Tiffin School, we believe in providing an enriching environment that nurtures not only academic growth, but also personal development. Our extensive range of facilities sets the stage for an extraordinary educational journey. From our state-of-the-art Sports Centre to our specialised classrooms, our facilities provide a dynamic platform for students to engage, aspire and excel as they progress through their secondary education.
Our off-site sports field, Grists, is more than just a playing field; it’s where your child’s athletic potential can thrive, serving as the heart of Rugby and Cricket excellence. Additionally, our state-of-the-art sports facilities include a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA), perfect for various sports activities and fostering teamwork. Our Boat Club on the Thames offers students the option to discover a new sport in Rowing.
Indoors, our Sports Hall and gym, complete with weights and cardio equipment, provide excellent athletic resources. For those with a passion for the arts, we have two air-conditioned dance studios, offering a creative and physical outlet for artistic expression.
Tiffin is committed to providing excellent learning environments that foster creativity, innovation, and skill development. Our specialised classrooms are carefully designed to stimulate curiosity and independent thinking. Here, Science labs are equipped for hands-on exploration, Art studios inspire artistic expression, and Technology hubs encourage cutting-edge discovery. Additionally, our DT workshop is a space where students can bring their design ideas to life and develop practical skills. Our Art rooms are filled with tools and inspiration, offering students the freedom to express themselves through various art forms. These facilities are more than just rooms; they’re the starting point of many bright ideas.
Our commitment to education extends far beyond textbooks. Our facilities encourage hands-on learning, exploration and critical thinking, ensuring your child is well-prepared for the future.
Our Music and Drama facilities provide dedicated spaces for students to explore and nurture their creative talents. For budding musicians, our practice rooms are a sanctuary, offering a quiet place to master their instruments and compose melodies. The Drama black-box studio serves as a versatile stage for aspiring actors and artists, where they can bring stories to life, experiment with various forms of theatre and express themselves in a supportive environment.
Our Sixth Form Centre has been designed to cater to the unique needs of our most senior students, ensuring that they have the ideal environment to excel academically and personally.
Within the Sixth Form Centre, there’s a comfortable and inviting student Common Room. This space is more than just a place to relax; it’s a hub of peer support where students can forge lasting friendships, discuss ideas, and relax between lessons. It’s a place where lifelong connections are formed, and where the foundations for future success are built.
In addition to the Common Room, our Sixth Form Centre boasts quiet study areas that are conducive to focused learning and productivity. Whether it’s preparing for exams, delving into research, or working on projects, these spaces provide a serene and distraction-free atmosphere for concentrated study.
The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) is a welcoming and friendly environment with plenty of space to study and read. As a dynamic hub of knowledge, our library is more than just a space with shelves filled with books, it’s designed to enhance the learning experience of our students. We have an all inclusive ethos which creates a vibrant reading culture for all year groups. The LRC is at the heart of the Tiffin community and our dedicated staff are always available to help with any help or support our students need.
We take great pride in maintaining a fully stocked library that encompasses a vast array of resources. Our extensive collection includes fiction and non-fiction books, reference materials, and an ever-growing selection of up-to-date periodicals. We also have subject and curriculum specific sections to help with course work, personal statements and career development. Whether it’s Medicine, Economics, Architecture, Geography, Psychology, Law, English, History, or Mathematics, among others, our collection is designed to support each student’s unique learning journey.
We are committed to providing the best resources for our students and we continually update and expand our collection to meet their ever-evolving educational needs. We regularly keep our students up-to-date with new releases and create engaging resources for them to use. In an age where information is at our fingertips, our library offers both traditional and digital resources.
As part of our dedication to promoting self-directed learning, all students have the opportunity to borrow resources from the library. The number of resources they can borrow may vary depending on their year group, ensuring that the library serves students at different stages of their educational progression.
To further support students’ academic endeavours, we provide a photocopier/printer/scanner, readily available for student use. This resource is just another way we aim to make learning as accessible and convenient as possible.
The Judge Lecture Theatre (JLT) serves as the ideal setting for a multitude of purposes, from lectures in the Sixth Form to school assemblies and large group events. The JLT is a versatile space that allows for multiple configurations, making it suitable for a variety of events across the school year. The room can be divided into two separate spaces with distinct seating arrangements, allowing for concurrent activities, discussions, or smaller gatherings. Furthermore, the theatre can be transformed into a completely clear room, providing an expansive area for dynamic use.
The JLT is equipped with essential resources to enhance the learning experience. It features a permanent screen and projector for clear visual presentations, a whiteboard for interactive discussions and a range of audio-visual aids to support engaging presentations. A hearing loop system is in place to ensure that all attendees can fully participate in the activities.
