Sports Round-Up – Summer Term 5
The final week before half term has still been packed with sporting activity, with students continuing to impress across a busy programme of fixtures against Middlesex Schools and Fulham Boys School.
The Under 17s began their Plate campaign with a comfortable victory away at Kingston Grammar School. With examinations ongoing, the side featured a blend of talented players from several age groups, all of whom combined superbly. KGS elected to bat first but were restricted to 114 from their 20 overs, thanks largely to excellent bowling from Rahul S and Joseph G, who both claimed three wickets each. The chase proved straightforward, as Tiffin powered to an eight-wicket victory inside 10 overs. Quick scoring from Nirmay (40)*, Ayush (26) and Atharv B (28) sealed an emphatic start to the campaign.
The Under 15s continued their impressive cup run with a convincing win over Hinchley Wood School last Thursday. A slightly slow start in the field allowed Hinchley Wood to score quickly early on, but disciplined bowling and improved fielding pegged the visitors back to 110. In reply, opening pair Rishabh (40)* and Mohammed S (35) controlled the chase superbly, guiding Tiffin to a nine-wicket victory inside 12 overs.
Saturday brought a sterner test against Middlesex Schools in a reduced 25-over contest due to the threat of rain. Batting first, Tiffin again laid an excellent platform through a strong opening partnership before posting an imposing 235. Rishabh continued his excellent form with a fluent 74, while Atharva played a sensational innings of 98, cruelly run out attempting to regain the strike for the final ball. Tiffin then backed up their batting display with disciplined bowling and fielding to secure a commanding 68-run victory, with Mohammed and Hamza the standout performers with the ball.

The U14s also faced Middlesex Schools at Grist’s on Saturday. Batting first, captain Atharv produced another outstanding innings, scoring his second consecutive century, a remarkable achievement, as the side posted 192. An excellent all-round bowling and fielding display followed, with Tiffin securing a 32-run win. Noah P and Jake D both claimed three wickets, while Aryan M produced a superb boundary catch to help wrap up victory.

The U13As hosted Fulham Boys at Grists and delivered an excellent team performance. A disciplined bowling display restricted the opposition to just 94, with Kiaan and Reyansh W both taking three wickets apiece. Tiffin then completed the chase confidently, with Karthikeyan top-scoring on 38* to guide the side home.

The U12As also welcomed Fulham Boys on Saturday. After a difficult start with the bat, the team recovered impressively to reach 160–4, thanks to an unbeaten 50* from captain Chase and a superb 116-run partnership with Arthur E. Tiffin then completed the victory with a disciplined bowling and fielding display, highlighted by outstanding figures of 3–6 from Ekansh.
It has been another excellent week of sport before the half-term break, with strong performances, impressive individual displays and continued success across the cricket programme.
