In-year Admissions Arrangements (Year 8 – Year 11) for mid-year entry
Please note that the normal entry points to the school are in Years 7 and Year 12 (Sixth Form). Only rarely do places become available in Years 8-11 (‘in-year’). A year group would normally be expected to move up through the school in its entirety following a student’s entry to the school in Year 7. Applicants who have previously sat the admission tests for entry to Year 7 and have scored below the cut-off score are not eligible to be reconsidered for entry to Years 8 to 11.
In-year applications should be made to Kingston Local Authority (RBK) on their Secondary In-year Application Form. If you wish to apply to Tiffin School, you must name Tiffin School on the RBK form. Secondary Pupil Information Forms (PIFs) completed by a child’s previous school as part of a child’s in-year application, are now provided to parents as a Google form. Both the Secondary In-year Application Form and PIF are available on RBK’s website here: https://www.kingston.gov.uk/schools-education/changing-school-year/1
When you have completed the online Application Form on RBK’s website, you must also email [email protected] detailing the name, date of birth and national curriculum year of the applicant. Once an in-year Application Form has been processed by Kingston Local Authority, the school will inform applicants’ parents and Kingston Local Authority of the outcome of the application.
If you have not had a response within 2 weeks of your submitting the online application form, please email [email protected] again.
A reminder that the deadline to apply for a place at Tiffin’s Sixth Form for September 2024 entry is Friday 15th December at 1700.
