Tiffin Life

Pastoral care and student wellbeing are a key priority at Tiffin School and underpin all areas of school life. Every student takes part in a Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) programme, and Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) programme, supporting their personal development alongside their academic progress. Effective pastoral systems help students feel secure, engaged, and able to succeed, in line with our values of Belonging, Learning, and Giving. Parents have opportunities to meet form tutors and subject teachers to discuss progress and overall development, and can arrange additional meetings with Heads of Year whenever needed.

Our wider Student Support Service includes a School Health Practitioner who is available on site at Thursday lunchtimes. The school also has a team of trained first aiders to respond to illness or injury. In addition, School Counsellors are available throughout the week, offering support through both referrals and drop-in sessions.

Wider Pastoral Care at Tiffin School

Students are encouraged to speak first with their Form Tutor about any concerns, and then their Head of Year if further support is needed.

Form time plays a central role in daily school life. Tutors meet with their groups each day, building strong relationships, tracking academic and personal progress, and offering ongoing guidance and support. It is also a valuable opportunity for students to develop friendships and a sense of belonging.

Pastoral care is delivered through a joined-up approach that combines wellbeing support with social and academic enrichment, structured through the Tutorial and House system. Alongside dedicated Key Stage 3 and 4 lessons and enrichment events, the PSHE programme is delivered during a fortnightly pastoral session across the academic year.
