Fresh off the back of recent successes in Round One, Tiffin’s 25/26 season was looking to cement its name in history by a strong performance in the infamous Judd fixture.
Much was riding on the match with the best from the South East of England competing and so we made the journey down with high hopes. The race started and the competitors all rushed to get up a narrow hill chokepoint which had been turned into two feet of mud by the time the senior boys were racing. International athlete Pancho made sure to stick to the race strategy created by team leaders Erik and Luke and got in a strong position in the leading pack and held on for the next 6.3km before finishing in a respectable 5th with an incredible 5km pace of 16:00 on the most challenging course of the year.
Shortly behind came Cathal in 21st just holding off the closing speed of national medalist Thomas who came in 22nd. To complete the scoring, James finished in 30th to leave us within touching distance of qualification for the third round – a very strong performance which sets the mood for the rest of the season to come.

Special congratulations to the Intermediate team who achieved an incredible 9th place from Anas and 22nd from Max, who both look to be very promising runners for the future of Tiffin Cross Country. This was done even though 80% of the team will be able to return next year in the same age category. This was an incredible performance from all Inters involved, ranking them in the top 15 teams in the South East.
