We were delighted to welcome the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, Councillor Thay Thayalan, to Tiffin School today to congratulate the winners and runners-up of the Kingston Through Their Eyes art and photography competition.
The competition invited young people across Kingston to share what their town means to them through art and photography – and our Tiffin students responded with creativity, imagination and their own unique perspectives.
Congratulations to our winners:
- Aarav – Key Stage 3 winner
- Lucas – Key Stage 4 winner
And well done to our runners-up, Henry and Pharrell, whose work was also highly commended by the judging panel.
We’re especially proud that Roko, a Year 11 student, was also awarded the People’s Choice Award, following a public vote at the exhibition at County Hall Kingston.
It was wonderful to see our students’ work celebrated alongside entries from primary schools across the borough, bringing together different ages, experiences and perspectives on the place we all call home.
The project reflects so much of what we value at Tiffin: creativity, curiosity, confidence and giving our students the opportunity to express themselves and contribute to the wider community.
A huge congratulations to all our students who took part. Your work gave Kingston a fresh perspective – through your eyes.

Thank you to London Square, Square Roots, the participating Kingston schools, the judging panel and everyone who visited the exhibition and supported our young artists.
