This Friday is the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival. Traditionally, it is a time for family gatherings, giving thanks for a good harvest, and enjoying the beautiful full moon. The moon is believed to be at its roundest, brightest and most beautiful around this time of year.

Our Mandarin Course students have been learning about the festival’s customs and traditions. They have also enjoyed exploring the rhymes, poems and legends associated with the festival, helping them to develop a deeper appreciation of Chinese culture and language.

In addition, the students came together to make and taste mooncakes, a traditional food enjoyed during the Mid-Autumn Festival. This was a wonderful opportunity for them to learn through a hands-on activity and share in the spirit of the celebration.

We wish everyone a very Happy Mid-Autumn Festival and a wonderful weekend!
