Year 12 Biology students enjoyed a hands-on fieldwork experience at Bushy Park this week, investigating how different species are distributed in a natural environment. Using quadrats and transects, they measured species abundance and distribution and recorded abiotic factors such as light intensity and soil conditions.

Back in the classroom, students analysed their data using statistical tests to determine whether there was a significant correlation between abiotic factors and species abundance and distribution, allowing them to accept or reject a null hypothesis.
