It has been an exceptional week of sport, highlighted by impressive performances at the prestigious Rosslyn Park National Schools Sevens (see full report), an action-packed weekend for the netball squads on their West Country Tour and a highly successful senior football tour to Barcelona.
Netball

Last weekend (21st March) saw the first, second and third netball teams travel to the West Country on the 2026 netball tour. Starting off in Bath, the girls were treated to a first-class training sessions at Bath University with Team Bath players. After drill training and some tourist time in Bath City Centre (a visit to ice cream parlours for some, and Roman Baths for others) the team reunited to watch an epic clash between Bath Uni and Loughborough Uni. The quality of netball was unbelievable and definitely inspired the girls for their own coming games. Saturday morning saw everyone bright and early on the Bristol go-karting course. After some healthy competition, and debatably dangerous go-karting driving, it was off to Downside School for a triple fixture. The excellent netball play was complemented by the sunshine and blue skies, a great afternoon all round. Saturday evening saw squad dinner at Bristol’s finest pizza joint and a buzz from all girls after the brilliant day. An early start on Sunday saw more blue skies and a drive over to Clifton College to play our three squads against Ignite Bristol. The music was blasting to get everyone energised in the warm-up session. Tiffin put in some excellent play and once again tensions were high and the quality of netball excelled. The teams then returned to Kingston bonded, exhausted (!) and buzzing from a fantastic weekend.

Football
On Thursday morning, 31 Year 12 and 13 footballers, accompanied by four staff, departed from Gatwick Airport for an unforgettable tour to Barcelona. The trip began with a visit to Camp Nou, where the group explored the museum and experienced the rich history of FC Barcelona, including a special tribute to Lionel Messi. A guided walk through the old city followed, providing a cultural highlight enjoyed by all. Day two offered a truly professional experience, as the squad trained at RCD Espanyol’s training centre under the guidance of academy coaches. Later that day, the teams faced CF Juventud. The 1st XI delivered an outstanding 3–0 victory, with goals from Daniel B and a superb free-kick from Yanis F. The 2nd XI were narrowly defeated in a competitive fixture, with Musab B scoring and earning Player of the Match. A well-earned rest day at PortAventura World allowed the players to recover before the final day, which included time at the beach and a chance to unwind. The tour concluded with fixtures against CF Martorell. The 1st XI secured a 1–0 win, with Max P scoring the decisive goal. The 2nd XI came from behind to win 2–1, thanks to goals from Zakaria and Joe G. It was a fantastic tour, combining football, culture and team bonding, and will undoubtedly be remembered by all involved.
