Gold Duke of Edinburgh Training Expedition 3-5 October in the Lake District

October has seen Tiffin’s Duke of Edinburgh Gold and Silver participants take to the hills–and mountains!-to complete their training expeditions this month. 35 intrepid Year 12 Gold DofE adventurers trekked up to the Lake District to brave the high winds, lashing rain and flooded paths that Storm Amy unleashed upon them, but came back victorious (if a bit sodden!) after three days and two nights of intense weather. Huge congratulations to all of them for showing terrific resilience, adaptability and positivity–here’s hoping the summer qualifying expedition is kinder, but they have already proven they can take on any challenge and come out smiling!

Silver Duke of Edinburgh Training Expedition 11-13 October in the Peak District

Meanwhile, immediately after a grueling week of exams, 47 Silver students headed out bright and early to the Peak District for their 3 day/2 night training expedition, and in contrast to the Gold expedition, were rewarded with stunning walking weather and gorgeous sunsets. They also proved how resilient and adaptable they were by seamlessly diving straight into Tiffin’s Sixth Form Open Evening the day after they got back! Well done Silvers!
