Girls’ Cricket

On Wednesday, for the first time in Tiffin history, we have girls’ Cricket up and running. Our Senior Girls’ team played their first fixture of the season, taking on Sir William Perkins’s School. With only a short few weeks of training (thank you Anna, Rhea and Arabella), the Cricket squad have largely gone from never having played, to hitting it out of the park. In a fantastic team performance, the girls secured a 27-run victory, laying down a marker for the rest of the season. The game was played with great enthusiasm and determination, and it was fantastic to see the depth of talent emerging in the girls’ Cricket program. Well done for bringing home our first ever win to secure a 100% success rate!

Boys’ Cricket

It was a competitive weekend of Cricket for our teams as they faced a full block of fixtures against KCS Wimbledon. Out of ten tightly contested matches, our sides came away with four well-earned victories, showcasing resilience and promising form across several age groups.

The U15s enjoyed a particularly successful outing, securing wins in both the A and B team fixtures. Their bowling units applied consistent pressure, and some composed batting helped steer both sides to deserved victories. The U12s also impressed, with the A and B teams both claiming wins in their fixtures. For many of these players, it marked a significant step in their development, with smart decision-making and improved fielding contributing to their success.

Midweek Cricket brought further highlights. On Tuesday, the U18s took on the prestigious MCC in what proved to be a memorable and rewarding experience. The match was played in excellent spirit and allowed our senior players to test themselves against experienced opposition. Rising to the occasion, the 1st XI produced one of their best performances of the season, securing an outstanding victory and demonstrating real maturity and composure throughout the match.

The momentum continued into Wednesday, as the U15As resumed their cup campaign with a key fixture against Glyn School. The team maintained their strong form, delivering a confident win that saw them progress to the next round. Their focus, energy, and teamwork were evident throughout.

Overall, it was a week filled with competitive Cricket, standout performances, and significant milestones. As we move further into the term, the teams will look to build on these results and continue their positive momentum.

Athletics

Our athletes delivered a fantastic set of results at the Borough Secondary Schools Athletics Competition, showcasing talent, determination, and team spirit across all age groups.

For our Year 7s, it was their first experience competing at this level—and they rose to the occasion brilliantly. Finishing 4th overall, the team put in a series of strong performances on both the Track and Field, laying a promising foundation for the years ahead. Their enthusiasm and potential were clear to see, and this result bodes well for future competitions.

The Senior Team were in outstanding form, bringing home 1st place after a series of dominant displays. From sprint finishes to technical field events, the seniors led by example, showing composure under pressure and great support for one another. It was a well-earned and memorable team victory.

Our Year 10s also made a big impact, narrowly missing out on top spot to finish in a very close 2nd place. Their commitment and consistency across events were exceptional, and they can be incredibly proud of their performance on the day.

Overall, it was a hugely successful day for the school, with excellent results across the board and plenty to be excited about for the rest of the Athletics season. Well done to all who competed!
