Please note, there are three sections to the tour, A, B and C, and each have their own starting point. Families are welcome to start the tour from any point that is convenient for them.
Section A
Starting Point: Dining Hall – Test Test
- Begin your tour in the Dining Hall, where you can enjoy refreshments from 1600-1930, with hot food available to purchase from 1800.
- Leave the Dining Hall through the double doors and cross the playground, heading forwards towards the sports facilities.
- On your left, you will pass Elmfield, built in 1754. This building contains IT support, Learning Support and some classrooms. Please continue forwards towards the sports facilities.
- On your left, you will pass our MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area). A variety of sports and activities take place on the MUGA, with a second MUGA due to be built during Summer 2025 to extend and improve our sporting provisions.
- Continue forwards and enter our Sports Centre via the doors to the right. From here, enter our gym which students enjoy using to compliment their sports training, or for general health and fitness.
- Leave the gym by the door at the back and turn left, heading along the corridor. Pass through the doors on the right and go round to the stairs. Here is the entrance to our Sports Hall (please do not enter due to the Head’s Talk taking place throughout the evening). This large space is used for Badminton, Basketball and PE lessons, as well as for whole school assemblies and various events.
- Go up the stairs to the top floor where you will see our studios. Please enter S3 and walk through S4.
- Upon leaving S4, turn left and walk along the corridor to our Dance Studio. Performances from our brilliant dance team will take place from 1800 onwards Exit the Dance Studio by the rear doors and walk down the stairs.
- Here you will see our school field. This site will be redeveloped over the Summer to include a new MUGA, a Netball court, long jump pit and refurbished cricket nets.
Section A ends here. Either continue to Section B or, if you have finished your tour, please head towards the playground to leave the site via the London Road Vehicle Gate.
Section B
Starting Point: School Field
- Start on the School field, part of our on-site sporting facilities. We also benefit from our nearby Sports Ground, Grist’s, located by Hampton Court. All students take part in Games afternoons at Grist’s as well as enjoying regular fixtures on Saturdays.
- Walk across the field and through the car park where you will come to double doors leading to our Main Hall.
- Walking through the Main Hall, you can see Drama rehearsals taking place. Our Main Hall not only serves as the home of Drama performances, but is also used for assemblies, workshops and presentations.
- Leave the Main Hall via the main entrance (double doors opposite where you entered). Turn left into the corridor where you can visit our Physics department in Room 11. Please enter and enjoy the various displays and meet our staff, before exiting through the other door
- You will now come to Biology in Room 10. Again, please feel free to spend time in here enjoying the various experiments and work on display.
- Leave Biology and go up the stairs to Chemistry, turn right and located on the right in Room 25.
- Exit and continue walking along the corridor. On your left you will pass Room 18 where you can find out more information about the 11+ Familiarisation Tests run by The Tiffin School Foundation in the Summer.
- Continue along the corridor and enter Room 17, Religion and Philosophy.
- History and Geography can both be found by continuing along the corridor to Room 15 and Room 29.
- Upon leaving Geography, turn and continue along the corridor until you reach the main central staircase. Go down these stairs and exit the building into the Head’s Garden via the double doors opposite.
Section B ends here. Either continue to Section C or, if you have finished your tour, please head towards the playground to leave the site via the London Road Vehicle Gate.
Section C
Starting Point: Head’s Garden
- Starting in the Head’s Garden, walk towards our Sixth Form Centre, located to the right of the garden from the Main Building. Enter via the patio doors.
- Our Sixth Form Centre is a dedicated space for our Year 12 and 13 students. In here, you can find our SEND Department who are happy to answer any SEND-related questions you may have.
- Walk through the first silent study area and into the curved Sixth Form corridor. Take the door straight ahead into our second silent study area. From here, turn left through the glass doors and walk to the far end of the informal Sixth Form area where students can work together in groups, relax and spend time with friends.
- Exit via the door on your left and walk into the Judge Lecture Theatre (JLT). This space is used for assemblies, lectures and workshops by all students across the school.
- Walk through the JLT and exit via the doors opposite where you entered. From here, walk straight ahead into the Roberts Building, where you can find out more about MFL and Classics.
- You can find Classics on your left, in Room 47, and MFL further along on your left in Room 45.
- Turn left out of Room 45 and walk towards the end of the corridor where you will exit the building. Please continue walking straight, towards the large blue doors of our Drama Studio.
- Our Drama Studio is where all Drama lessons take place, as well as rehearsals for the numerous productions that take place across the academic year. Exit via the door on your right, which will take you into the corridor of the Chester Centre. Take the stairs directly opposite you.
- Upstairs, you will enter our Art Department. In Room 92, you can see examples of the brilliant work our students produce. Walk through the classroom and leave by this door, back into the corridor. Continue along the corridor until you reach the fire escape stair case. Go down the stairs and continue right as you walk behind the back of the MUGA (on your left) and enter the Walden Hall.
- The Walden Hall is one of our Music recital spaces. Please enjoy the musical performances before exiting and going into Room 82 to see our Cookery facilities. Cookery is done in Year 8 as part of our DT offering.
- Continue into Room 80, where you can see one of DT workshops and the variety of equipment students get to use.
- Exit via the fire escape and make your way past Elmfield and go up the iron staircase outside the Roberts Building to English. English can be found on your left as you walk along the corridor, in Room 52.
- Continue along the corridor where you can find our Admissions team in Room 57, on your right, who will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the admissions process.
- Continue along the corridor and turn right up, up the stairs towards our Learning Resource Centre (LRC). Walk through the LRC exit opposite where you entered. Turn left, follow the curved corridor around until you turn right. Here you can visit Computer Science in Room 37.
- Continue straight along the corridor into our Maths Department. Please go into Room 103 or 104 (you do not need to go into both) to meet the department and find out more about Maths at Tiffin.
- Upon leaving, follow the corridor until you reach the outside stair case and head down towards the Dining Hall.
- In the Dining Hall you can enjoy refreshments from 1600-1930, with hot food available to purchase from 1800.
Section C ends here. Either continue to Section A or, if you have finished your tour, please head towards the playground to leave the site via the London Road Vehicle Gate.
