In April, a select group of students commenced preparations for a prestigious opportunity to perform at the Rugby League Betfred Challenge Cup Final held at Wembley Stadium. The project began with a workshop led by professional dancers from the organising team, Join the Momentum, who taught the full five-minute choreography in a focused three-hour session. This workshop was carefully designed to introduce the routine clearly and effectively.

Following this initial session, students participated in a series of rehearsals with Mrs Brittain, during which they refined their technique to deliver a polished and confident performance. These rehearsals required significant dedication and commitment from all involved.

On the day of the final, the students convened early and took part in a run-through at a nearby school, joining 500 dancers from across the country. This rehearsal provided an opportunity to synchronise their movements and understand how the full ensemble would be positioned on the pitch.

The performance occurred during halftime of the men’s match at Wembley Stadium. Prior to going onstage, students were given behind-the-scenes access, offering valuable insight into the scale and organisation involved in staging such a large event. The group then performed alongside the other dancers to an audience of approximately 65,000 spectators.

Following the successful performance, the students enjoyed watching the remainder of the thrilling match. This exceptional experience highlighted the students’ hard work and commitment, offering a memorable opportunity to showcase their talents on one of the nation’s most prestigious stages.
