Tiffin’s strongest female and male teams yet, took to our own Cross Country competition, the Judge Cup, at Grists on 12th Feb.
The female team was especially strong with the ‘A’ team leading the race for the first time in its five year history.
Former staff, Mr Costello, had organised a team from Ashmole Academy, who eventually won the trophy, but not without a fine set of performances from the hosts.
The team of Rowan N, Amy G, and Sophie B gained a well deserved team silver in our fastest team time ever.
Rowan was 3rd fastest on leg 1, Sophie 2nd fastest on leg 2, and Amy was the fastest on leg 2. All three of them earned individual medals to go with their magnificent team silver.
The ‘B’ team, not to be outshone, won their category with ease with a team of Sorcha M, Elena K, and Sophie P again setting a record time for a Tiffin ‘B’ team, for an equally well deserved set of medals.
The male team saw two determined legs by Judge cup debutants, Tomas W and the resplendent Bardy W.
Max J and Frederic B ran for the Year 8s, before their fast improving Year 8 colleague clocked a blistering time against year 9s: Anas B was the second fastest Year 8 on the park showing what determination and strong opposition can do for an athlete within a team of strong-mentalities. Struan F, again, looked incredibly strong for the ‘B’ team. Tomas W returned to the fray for the ‘A’ team and Ethan F put in a sterling performance for the ‘B’ team.
Pancho P and Atharv P both clocked fastest laps to bring us into 3rd place. A great result against an ever-strengthening field. Joshua A again looked good for the ‘B’ team, while Marcus H concluded our very successful day, with a 4th ‘B’ team member to cross the line position.
Congratulations to every athlete that participated in the anniversary of the Judge Cup!
