It’s been another busy couple of weeks at Tiffin, with three Year 7 games taking place on Friday 27th and the 1st XV, u15As and u14As continuing their cup runs along with a weekend against Wimbledon college.

1st XV took on a tough Wimbledon college side and came up short just losing in a 32-31 thriller despite putting on a great performance.

2nd XV had a winning Wednesday against Ewell castle showing how well they have improved as a team, they also took on a tough Wimbledon college side at the weekend even though they showed real potential they couldn’t bring home the win.

U15As took on their first cup game of the season against Saint Cecilia’s putting on a great show of rugby proving their worth to advance through to round 2 with a 31 – 7 win. Another game on Saturday saw them get the win against Gunnersbury with a solid performance from the boys and continued this form with an outstanding display of rugby against Wimbledon college to get the win with Ethan, Faran and Hughie running amok.

U16As continued their good run of form with another win this season against Gunnersbury pushing them up to three wins so far this season. However, a well drilled Wimbledon college side would bring this to a halt with a loss on the weekend as the boys now look to bounce back and get back to their winning ways.

U16Bs had a tough fixture against a good Wimbledon college side but it was a great learning opportunity for the boys as the move onto London Oratory after a great training week.

U13As took an unfortunate loss against a tough Gunnersbury side despite showing great progress. This was again demonstrated in a successful day at the Surrey Festival with some great performances including a win against St John’s Leatherhead

U13Bs continued their unbeaten streak this season with another win, beating Gunnersbury pushing the run to three wins now.

U14As advanced to the 3rd round of the national cup with a close win against Reigate grammar, showing their combination of a power and width game plan to get the win after a close battle. Leading them into another close game on the weekend where they came up short with a 7 – 14 loss to Wimbledon college.

U14Bs lost out to a tough Wimbledon college side.

Our Year 7s took on Gunnersbury on Friday afternoon. With an A, B and C teams all winning despite turning up late due to transport issues. It was a great performance from the year group as they look to continue a successful rugby programme at Tiffin. They went on to face Wimbledon college on the weekend and with two close games we came up short in both games despite showing great development each week. We are sure they will bounce back quickly.

The 1st XV are now in round 4 of the National vase, playing Glyn under the floodlights of Old Cranleighans RFC on Friday 18th at 6.45pm. All support is welcome. The 2nd XV curtain raiser kicks off at 5pm. The U14s face Whitgift in round 3 of the national cup in November and the U15s face Emanuel next Thursday. We love a cup run!

Our Netball 1st VII went away to Coombe Girls and put on a great show getting a solid 35 – 15 win. Miss Passco then took the Year 12 and 13 sports team girls on a team building trip to Ninja Warrior. The girls participation and performance programmes are flying high!
