The Year 7 Inter-Form Choir Competition took place on Monday, 12 October, with almost all 180 Year 7 pupils gathered in All Saints’ Church for an evening of music and performance. Each form presented a song prepared during music lessons over half term, alongside an instrumental solo performed by one of its representatives.

The evening featured a fantastic variety of songs, from 7RRA’s performance of Fleetwood Mac’s Don’t Stop and 7OBW’s energetic rendition of Survivor’s Eye of the Tiger, to 7RSH’s Wonderwall by Oasis, 7AMW’s 9 to 5 by Dolly Parton, 7OSM’s Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey, and 7BBA’s Thank You for the Music by ABBA. These performances were complemented by a series of impressive instrumental solos on the violin, piano, flute and French horn.

While our adjudicator, Mr Mark Wilderspin, deliberated over his final decisions, the Chamber Choir delighted the audience with two wonderful pieces.

The winners were 7OSM, with their performance of Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’, and Oliver from 7OBW for his French horn solo.

Congratulations to all the pupils who took part for their enthusiasm, hard work and wonderful performances. It was a fantastic evening celebrating the musical talent and confidence of our Year 7 pupils!
