Belonging is one of Tiffin’s core values, and on Thursday 15 October, staff and students came together to celebrate inclusion and belonging by adding a splash of colour to their school uniforms.
The event brought together several important October awareness celebrations, including Inclusion in Sport, World Mental Health Day, Black History Month and ADHD Awareness Month, highlighting the importance of creating a community in which everyone feels valued, respected and included.
A particular focus was placed on inclusion in sport, recognising that everyone, regardless of age, gender, race, religion, culture, sexual orientation or physical and mental ability, should have equal access to physical activities and competitions. Sport offers significant physical and mental health benefits, and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to participate helps foster confidence, wellbeing and a genuine sense of belonging.
By embracing a splash of colour while remaining in full school uniform, staff and students showed their support for these important causes and helped raise awareness of the many ways we can make our school community more inclusive.
The event was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate diversity, promote wellbeing and reaffirm Tiffin’s commitment to ensuring that everyone feels they belong.
