This year’s Sports Day was a fantastic celebration of athletic performance, determination and house spirit, with pupils from every year group producing an outstanding day of competition.

Congratulations to Darwin Wilberforce, who were crowned overall House Champions after consistently strong performances across both the track and field events. Kingsley Montgomery finished as worthy runners-up, with Turing Nightingale taking an impressive third place in a closely contested competition.

The standard of competition was exceptionally high throughout the day, with an incredible seven new house records being broken. Two standout performances came in the sprint events, where Yadaven G. set a new Year 10 100m House Record with a superb time of 11.1 seconds, while Josh C. equalled that level of excellence by breaking the Year 13 100m House Record in an outstanding 11.0 seconds.

One of the highlights of the day was the fantastic level of participation. It was brilliant to see so many pupils representing their houses, supporting one another and giving their best effort in every event. The atmosphere around the track and field reflected the enthusiasm, teamwork and sportsmanship that make Sports Day such an important part of the school calendar.

This year also marked an exciting milestone for girls’ athletics, with the introduction of the Year 12–13 Girls’ 200m, 800m and Shot Put events. It was fantastic to see these events contested for the first time, and at such a highly competitive standard, showcasing the continued growth of athletics within the school.

A huge thank you goes to all the staff, officials, student helpers and spectators who made the day such a success. Their support ensured the event ran smoothly and created an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

Congratulations to all of our competitors, record breakers and House winners – we look forward to seeing what can be achieved at Sports Day next year!
