As the academic year draws towards its conclusion, Activities Week once again demonstrated the breadth of opportunities available to Tiffin students beyond the classroom. Throughout the week, students across Years 7–10 embraced new experiences, developed valuable skills and strengthened friendships through an exciting programme of trips, workshops and enrichment activities.
Our Year 7 students spent three days at PGL, where they challenged themselves through a range of outdoor adventure activities designed to build teamwork, resilience, leadership and confidence. They then enjoyed a creative workshop with the Rose Theatre, exploring the world of performance, before ending the week by taking part in a sponsored walk in support of Momentum Children’s Charity They have raised over £1,100 already. If you would like to contribute you can do so here.
Year 8 enjoyed an equally varied programme, with educational visits to Wisley Gardens and the British Museum, a day of sporting activities, engaging drama workshops delivered by the Rose Theatre and a fascinating Chinese culture and martial arts experience, broadening their understanding of global traditions and cultures.
Year 9 students followed one of three pathways. Many travelled overseas on unforgettable visits to France or Germany, immersing themselves in the language, history and culture of their host countries. Students who remained at school enjoyed an exceptional programme of enrichment, including a visit to Bletchley Park, a trip to the British Museum, a day of sport, coding and cryptography workshops, creative art sessions and a Chinese culture and martial arts day.
Meanwhile, our Year 10 students completed their work experience placements, an increasingly important part of our careers programme following the latest national careers guidance. These placements provided students with invaluable insight into the world of work, helping them develop employability skills, explore potential career pathways and build confidence as they prepare for their future education and employment.
Activities Week perfectly reflects Tiffin’s commitment to providing an education that extends far beyond academic success. Whether developing resilience in the outdoors, exploring history and culture, travelling abroad, learning new technical skills or gaining first-hand experience in the workplace, our students have embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm, curiosity and maturity. My thanks go to the many members of staff, external partners and organisations who made such an inspiring and memorable week possible.
