Last Tuesday morning, the Year 12 History cohort arrived at school bright and early. We were blessed with an air-conditioned coach that delivered us to Chalke Valley, near Salisbury. In store for us was an action-packed day of History talks and interactive exhibits.

Across three tents, fifteen talks throughout the day covered topics ranging from the American Revolution to WWII, from Feminism to the craft of the Historian, and from the Crusades to Elizabeth I. Meanwhile, “live history” was going on all around the site, showing delights such as rope-making, falconry, live weapons demonstrations, and stonemasonry.

We braved the heat all day and enjoyed our kebab wraps and pizzas from the food trucks, ready to jump back onto the bus and head home in no time.
