Over the last two days, KS3 took to the Main Hall by storm with four performances of this year’s KS3 production, ‘Wind in the Willows’. With two school day matinee performances for Year 7, and two packed out evening performances for friends, parents and family, it was an incredibly successful run, and the students did themselves really proud. From forming the band, led by Ms Church, to manning the lighting and tech desk, to being stage crew backstage, to performing, it is testament to the students’ ability that they were able to hold the stage in the same way as our most experienced Sixth Form Drama veterans.

The students were held to an exceptionally high standard, performing a full-length West End production, with a set design that changed with the seasons, solo and group singing numbers, complex stage combat sequences and demanding roles with a lot of lines to learn! To watch them not just manage this but to excel was something that made the show team of Miss Kluver, Ms Church & Mr Moodie incredibly proud.

Thank you also must go to the incredible Sixth Form team of Year 12s and 13s, who came in even after finishing their mocks and A-Levels to put the set and design elements together. Thank you also to all the parents and family who came along to watch the show, who supported with line learning, costume making and lifts from rehearsals! It was a real show of the Drama community, and a great final Main Hall production for the year.

One last reminder for next week’s Year 12 production, Life x3, with a team of fantastic Year 12 actors ably led by Miss Kluver & Mrs Karska.
