Sports Round-Up Summer Term 1
It has been another very busy and successful week of sport, with a full cricket block against Kingston Grammar School alongside a number of midweek fixtures and an impressive showing at the Surrey Schools Tennis Festival.
The 1st XI travelled to Ditton Field for a T20 fixture and produced a highly professional performance. KGS were restricted to 125, thanks to disciplined bowling, with standout figures of 2–17 from Matthias, the pick of the attack. In reply, Tiffin chased the target comfortably in just 18 overs, losing only two wickets. Ayush (25)* and Abir (38)* guided the side home to secure their first win of the season.
The 2nd XI also enjoyed success at Grist’s, chasing down 85 with ease. Max P produced remarkable bowling figures of 5–4, before Aditya K scored a fluent 50 as the side reached the target with seven overs to spare.

The U15As progressed comfortably in the cup on Thursday with an 80-run victory over Holyfield School at Grists. Recovering from 57–4, Rahul S played an excellent innings of 50 to help the side post 179 from their 20 overs. In response, Rohan was the standout bowler with tidy figures of 2–9.
On Saturday, the A’s were involved in another thrilling contest against KGS. Mohammed S (50) and Rahul S (41)* combined brilliantly to guide Tiffin to 165. The bowlers consistently made breakthroughs, with Mohammed S (4–31) and Atharva R (3–21) impressing, but KGS ultimately edged home with just one wicket remaining in a superbly competitive game.
The U15Bs continued their excellent start to the season with a convincing win at Grists. Tiffin posted an imposing 198 from 20 overs, with Aarav M scoring a rapid 64, supported by Felix (24) and Havish (32)*. The bowlers then restricted KGS to 121–7, with Rickh taking impressive figures of 3–14.
The U14As came up short away at KGS, with a difficult start ultimately proving costly. Rory J’s quickfire 33* gave the side hope, but they eventually fell 19 runs short.
The U14Bs, however, enjoyed a successful outing, chasing down 110 comfortably. Nathan C (25) and Simon (18)* guided the team home with confidence.
The U13As got their first win of the season on Tuesday at Halliford. The side won by 11 runs thanks to Aatifuddin’s 70 which helped the side set a strong total.
The U13B and C teams both secured excellent victories at Grists on Saturday. In the Bs, there were half-centuries from Patrick and Nimansh, while Advaith starred with the ball, taking outstanding figures of 3–2. The Cs won by four wickets, thanks to an unbeaten 35* from Leishem, who calmly guided the side home.

The U12Bs were involved in one of the closest finishes of the week, defending 97 to win by just one run after a superb team bowling and fielding performance.

The U12Cs and Ds also recorded strong victories over KGS, with standout performances from Mugill, Jemal and Lucas for the Cs, and Yoshun, Tansh and Ethan for the Ds.
At the Surrey Schools Tennis Festival, Tiffin enjoyed an excellent few days of competition.
On Thursday, the girls’ festival took place, where the U18 girls finished an impressive 3rd place. Adayanna and Jesmin produced some excellent performances, including victories over Surbiton High School.

Friday saw the boys compete, with four Tiffin teams taking part. The U12 pair of Spencer and Oscar played superbly to secure a deserved 3rd place finish. Meanwhile, the U16 team of Daniel C and Eesah competed excellently in a very strong group, eventually losing to the tournament winners.

Athletics had their second week of competition at Claremont Fan Court School. In a highly competitive meet with over 20 participants, Tiffin finished 2nd in the U13s category and 4th in the U12s, continuing last week’s strong start to the season.
It has been another outstanding week of sport, with excellent performances, thrilling matches and impressive achievements across cricket and tennis as the summer term continues at full pace.
