Year 13 Mandarin Students Celebrate Course Completion with Chinese Meal

Our Year 13 Mandarin course students recently enjoyed a memorable outing to a local Chinese restaurant to celebrate the successful completion of their course. The meal provided a wonderful opportunity to bring language learning to life in an authentic cultural setting.

During the visit, students not only practised recognising and ordering dishes in Chinese, but also deepened their understanding of traditional Chinese dining etiquette, including table manners and shared dining customs. This hands-on experience helped reinforce their classroom learning in a meaningful and engaging way.

Students sampled a variety of classic dishes, including Zhong dumplingsgreen peppercorn fish, and mapo tofu, broadening both their culinary and cultural horizons. The experience was thoroughly enjoyed by all and sparked great enthusiasm for Chinese cuisine and culture.

It was a fantastic way to conclude the course, celebrating both their achievements and their growing confidence in using Mandarin in real-life situations.
