The rowing club boated a multitude of boys and girls crews over this last weekend.
On Saturday 21st we raced Kingston Small Boats Head with a number of top 5 crews across many events, just missing the top spot in Junior 18 quads by 3 seconds against local rivals Kingston Rowing Club. Plenty of good performances all round.
Just two days later the club went on to race the Scullery at Eton Dorney Lake. Massive improvements from the squads saw many of them rank in positions that will hopefully lead to great Tiffin representation at National Championships later in May. The J16 boys A boat of Ben C, Calan C, Tom J and Will C pushed on to show some classy technical rowing and set a baseline of expectation for their lead into Nationals. The flagship J18s ranked a very impressive 9th and turned over the loss to Kingston on Saturday by a respectable margin. Most crews placed just above mid-table showing solid improvement, in particular our girls’ crews showed the best improvements across the squad.
Lucas W’s GB trials weekend involved 3 straight days of the toughest trialling with the top GB junior rowers. He pushed through to the last stage, and was invited back to the April camp, which is a truly impressive feat.
Thanks to all our squad who were competitive, supportive and provided much to be positive about.
