Tiffin School Choir broadcast Choral Evensong on BBC Radio 3 at 3pm on Wednesday 18 March, as part of the Barnes Music Festival. The service was pre-recorded on Friday, 13 March.
The music included an introit by Oliver Tarney, Assistant Director of Music at Tiffin School. This marked Tiffin’s fourth consecutive Choral Evensong broadcast. As one of the very few schools ever to have broadcast the service, and proudly the only state school to have done so, Tiffin continues to hold a distinctive place in the tradition of BBC Choral Evensong.
The programme itself is the BBC’s longest-running outside broadcast and reaches an audience of more than 250,000 listeners each week. The broadcast can be heard on BBC Sounds here.
