Boys Team
Taking in the sun, 8 of Tiffin’s finest senior boys runners made their way down to RGS Guildford on the 18th of March to take part in the legendary cross-country course there. The first instalment after a 3-year hiatus, the Tiffinians were eager for glory on the undulating course – 2kms zipping round playing fields before attempting to summit the hill to the finish.
Rising star James got out hard in the first leg and cemented our position in the top 6 showing grit amidst the elevation before Thomas took the reins and galloped off, quickly closing the gap to the main pack and then began clawing away the metres to put us into a promising 2nd at the hand off. Next, Cathal pushed hard to put us within touching distance of glory, managing to pick off the last opponent before handing over to Marcus who fought valiantly against the best runners of the other schools – leaving us in a very respectable 4th out of almost 50 teams.
On the B team, Struan and Max proved themselves to be future icons of the sport, competing as y10s against sixth formers, and ran commendable times whilst Josh and Haruki showed their class again, putting down times which would rival most runners in the top 5 teams. A very successful performance overall topped off by legendary sausage rolls at the end.
Girls Team

The Haskell Cup was a great success for the girl’s team today. Our team placed 8th, smashing the previous Tiffin record. It was a stunning day for a race, with sunshine and smiles all around. Rowan opened with the first leg, followed by a strong second leg from new member Phoebe (borrowed from the rowing team). Maya held on strong in the 3rd leg, and Neve bounded across the finish line in a phenomenal time. Spirits only rose on the journey home, with the girly pop bangers blasting. All in all: a triumph.
