Despite persistent rain throughout the week, several teams were still able to take to the field and courts, producing competitive performances and plenty of positives across netball and football.

The past two weeks have seen the Tiffin A, B and C netball squads competing against St Thomas’ College and Ibstock in a series of highly competitive fixtures. Across all matches, the intensity, teamwork and resilience shown by the squads have been a real highlight.

Special mention must go to our shooters this week:

  • Rebekah, who continued to score with confidence despite losing her glasses, a truly natural talent.
  • Jess and Sorcha, whose lightning-fast movement and connection left defenders struggling to keep up.
  • Zoe, who proved herself to be double trouble, making a strong impact at both ends of the court.

It was also fantastic to see so many C squad players stepping up to represent the Bs, holding their own impressively and showing the depth of talent across the programme.

Results:

Ibstock (A): 22–29 loss

Ibstock (B): 20–3 win

St Thomas’ College (C): 14–16 loss

Netball

The U14s faced Richard Challoner on Saturday in what proved to be a tough test against strong opposition. Despite a solid performance, the team was edged out 4–2. Hamza E and Nathan C were particularly impressive throughout the match.

The U13s enjoyed an excellent start to their season on Tuesday, recording two emphatic wins away at Wilson’s. Freddie L and Carter impressed for the As, while Toshiro and Owen L stood out in strong performances for the Bs.

The U12s represented Tiffin in football for the first time last Friday. The A and B teams faced very strong opposition and, despite the results, gained valuable experience. The Cs recorded their first win, delivering a great team performance with Oscar S standing out. The U12A team also played on Saturday away at Richard Challoner. Although they narrowly lost, the display was full of promise and attacking intent, with Mason G deservedly named Man of the Match.

Despite the challenging conditions, it has been an encouraging week of sport, full of learning, progress and standout performances. Well done to all pupils who represented Tiffin with such commitment and enthusiasm.
