On Sunday 11 January, Tiffin Glee Club spent the day at Epsom Playhouse competing in the Regional Jack Petchey Glee Club Challenge. Ten groups from across the region competed for just three places in the Finals. Each group was required to prepare two contrasting pieces: one from musical theatre and one pop song, ideally in different styles. Tiffin Glee Club performed Footloose from the musical of the same name and Shut Up and Dance by Walk the Moon.
Throughout the day, the group worked alongside a professional technical crew, as well as producers and choreographers with experience in the West End, taking part in technical rehearsals and preparing for the public evening performance.
The competition was fierce, but Tiffin Glee Club rose to the challenge, delivering their strongest performance to date. They showcased exceptional cohesion, strong harmonies and a flawless overall performance. Following a final review by the show’s host, the top three groups were selected to progress, with Tiffin Glee Club deservedly securing a place in the Finals at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London’s West End in April.
Congratulations to all involved for their dedication and hard work, and best of luck to the boys representing Tiffin in the Finals.
