On Wednesday, 15th October, the Main Hall was alive with excitement as students, staff, and supporters gathered for the much-anticipated House Dance Finals. The atmosphere was electric, with vibrant house colours, spirited cheering, and an overwhelming sense of community pride. This annual showcase not only celebrates dance talent, but also highlights teamwork, creativity, and house spirit. The competition featured three dynamic categories: Set Piece (performed to APT by Rose and Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars), Free Piece (allowing complete freedom of music and style), and Solo/Duo Performances, where individual performers had the stage to themselves to demonstrate technical skill, musicality, and personal expression. From contemporary and hip-hop to tap and fusion styles, the event promised after and afternoon of diverse and memorable performances.

This year’s esteemed judging panel included Mrs O’Connell, Mr Moody, and Mrs Cadogan, who had the difficult task of evaluating an exceptional standard of performances across all categories.

Following the earlier heats, the Houses Livingstone (L), Drake (D), Scott (S), Darwin Wilberforce (DW), and Turing-Nightingale (TN) progressed to the Set Piece finals. In the Free Piece category, Churchill-Gordon (CG) and Kingsley-Montgomery (KM) impressed with their imaginative choreography and secured their places in the final. Additionally, the Solo/Duo finals featured outstanding individual talent from Daniel (D), Alice (KM), and Shreyank (D).
