Chemistry Olympiad
On Thursday 23 January 2025, 16,216 students from 1502 schools sat the Chemistry Olympiad exam paper. Around 60 Tiffin chemists took part from Years 12 and 13. They received a bronze, silver, or gold award based on their scores.
We received an outstanding 28 bronze, 22 silver and 5 gold awards. This is even more spectacular for two reasons.
Firstly, most of our students are in Year 12.
Secondly, Numair A in Year 13 scored highly enough to be invited along to Cambridge University in the Easter holidays to try out for the national team that will take part in the international final in Dubai in July.
Please congratulate them and wish him luck!
Imperial Science and Innovation Competition
Earlier this year, Mrs Molyneux sent out an email about the Imperial Science and Innovation Competition and we are delighted to announce that team ‘Biological Barrier Breakers’ has reached the final in the 16 – 19 age group.
This will be held on Wednesday 23rd April at Imperial’s South Kensington campus. The judging panel for the event will include Dr Helen Sharman, Britain’s first astronaut, and Lord Winston, Professor of Science and Society.
The Biological Barrier Breakers team is Alex K, Ella S, and Achyuth A.
Again, please congratulate them and wish them luck in the final!
