For this year’s World Book Day, our students engaged in many exciting book-related activities. Our KS3 book club, who are currently reading ‘The Bletchley Riddle’ by Ruta Sepetys & Steve Sheinkin, joined in with lots of fun activities including a game of ‘book charades’ which also helped them to recommend books to each other. The book clubbers have all thoroughly enjoyed ‘The Bletchley Riddle’ so far and have learnt about the WWII code-breakers.
Within the LRC, we created a ‘match the book to the blurb’ challenge. Lots of students participated and they had a great time trying to figure out the challenges. It was a great way to showcase some of the new books we have recently bought for the LRC, and many of the books were then taken out to read. To celebrate our students’ love for reading, we also gave them each a World Book Day Token. They are very excited to either swap it for a free World Book Day book or use it towards buying a new book.
Happy reading
