Tiffin’s rowers have been in action recently, competing in two long-distance Head races, stretching over 5.2km, earlier in November. Additionally, the Boat Club held their annual Quiz Night last week, brilliantly supported by the parent group, and raised a record-breaking sum!
At Kingston Small Boats Head, on a lovely day that was perfect for rowing, we produced two great results; a well-fought silver medal for the Junior women in the WJ16 double (Year 11). With a sterling effort, the Year 12s, rowing in the category up, won the J18 category by a tight 1.84 seconds over a 17 minute race; truly an impressive result ! Our B boat also had an outstanding race coming 4th; this year group continues to impress. Two of the winning crews went on to represent the school at GB Trials, showing that Tiffin once again have a strong rowing presence.
At Teddington Head last weekend, we juggled crews across all year groups and put out a big entry of developmental boats and managed across all 11 categories we entered to come in the top 4 of our events, including 3 silver medal places. Great rowing from all the students and well done to the coaches and parents.
We also had our quiz night on Friday 15th November, with Mr Williams opening the first four rounds of questions. It was a great night and huge thanks to the parent group who raised a record-breaking quiz night sum and have continued to support us through the year.
