Trips in geography are hugely beneficial as they allow students to apply theoretical understanding to an ever changing complex world. The year 12 geographers have just carried out two days of field work, visiting Spitalfields and Kingston.

Day one started at Waterloo station and was a guided tour through to Spitalfields by our very own A to Z, Mr Britain. The students were investigating both the contemporary urban environment, alongside the relationships and connections that shape the City.

On the second day, our attention shifted to Kingston and New Malden, where we continued our human geography focus. The aim was to understand how meaning and representation can affect the nature of place and space.

The trips were an excellent opportunity to develop geographical knowledge. Next stop will be Dartmoor!
