Independent, Motivated Students

In terms of outcome the school has an enviable reputation, built upon many years of experience and success. All of our students proceed to Higher Education with about 80% to the Russell Group universities, including about 20 per year going on to Oxbridge, and 15-20 to medical school.

As admission procedures to universities become ever more complex, clear guidance is an even more essential part of this process. We have a team of experienced staff to advise on Higher Education and careers, and an extensive programme to assist the students: this includes visits to universities and conferences, and our summer term Higher Education Festival. Preparation for, and progression to, Higher Education is a major aspect and concern throughout the Sixth Form, which is organised and focused around achieving this goal. Clearly high academic achievement is crucial, but the other extensive wider opportunities that Tiffin Sixth Form offers, as well as the emphasis on social and moral development, combine with the guidance to enable our Sixth Form students to make a successful university application. Moreover, our approach to learning supports a commitment to encourage independent study to sustain our students at university.
