Year 7 Examinations: A Revision Guide
After the summer half term break your son will sit his first set of Tiffin School examinations. This is a challenging time for all boys but a challenge to be embraced so as they might prove their capabilities to themselves, to you and to us at school.
Below you will find the revision guide (available in two formats: a MS Powerpoint presentation and a pdf) provided for Year 7 students. Each Year 7 form has discussed its content during form time and SMD during the last couple of weeks, sharing ideas for best practice and experimenting with various strategies. In addition, each of your son’s subject teachers has discussed with students topics to be revised in preparation for their exam. The Learning 2 Learn programme your son has been following during the year has enabled him to identify his preferred learning style, including his most effective learning environment, and so should aid him further in his preparations.
I hope this guide is of help to you and your son. Whilst a half term break is an obvious time for intense revision, please do note our recommendation of revising in small chunks of time with regular breaks. Boys should not be working for more than three to four hours a day – half term is a time for rest and recuperation too!
