Duke Of Edinburgh

The Aim of the Award

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award aims to provide for young people an enjoyable, challenging and rewarding programme of personal development, which is of the highest quality and the widest reach. Involvement in the scheme is rapidly increasing at Tiffin.  There is now a dedicated team of teachers, ex-pupils and older students involved in D of E all of whom give up valuable weekends and holidays to ensure the students safety and enjoyment of the expeditions.

Awards for All website - Lottery Grants for Local Groups
Tiffin Duke of Edinburgh department have been lucky enough to have been awarded a lottery grant to buy much needed equipment to ensure the award is truly open to all.

The award has been granted £10,000. Over half of this will be spent on tents rejuvenating a very tired stock. A considerable sum will be spent on purchasing high quality waterproof jackets and trousers ensuring participants are safe on all trips no matter what the weather throws at them. Cooking and navigation equipment will also be purchased.

As you may be aware all outdoor kit is very expensive so we are very fortunate to have received this fund and if any parents would like to make donations of kit or money these would be gratefully received as the shelf life of the kit is only short.
