Old TiffiniansThe Old Tiffinians Club was formed in 1902 as a social and sporting club for alumni of Tiffin School.
In 1944 Old Tiffinians purchased an area of land near Hampton Court for the use of the School and Old Tiffinians. In line with the intentions of the appeal to the Old Tiffinians, alumni and School rugby and cricket are still played at Grists along with alumni football. Details of the clubs can be viewed on the website.
In 2009 the society was renamed the Tiffinian Association Limited and became a charity and opened up its circulation list to ex-parents and other friends of the School.
The Association, with the co-operation of the School, currently holds:
- a Summer Reunion at the School
- career events for alumni and practice interviews for current students
- a Skiff Marathon on the Thames
- an Annual Dinner at the School
- a reunion dinner for those who left the school 10 years ago
- various small lunches for alumni
The Tiffinian AssociationThe Tiffinian Association produces a quarterly publication for alumni and friends of Tiffin School called Tiffnews, which is mainly circulated by email. Past copies of Tiffnews can be viewed on the TiffinFriends website. If you wish to be included on the circulation list, please email your request to TAL@tiffin.kingston.sch.uk.
In 2010 the School, in conjunction with the Tiffinian Association, was delighted to host a reunion for Tiffin alumni at the Consul-General’s Residence in Sydney, Australia to coincide with the School Choir’s tour of the country. This reflected the Association’s aim to keep Old Tiffinians living abroad in touch with the School and their contemporaries.
The Association is currently fundraising to refurbish and modernise the Dean Pavilion at Grists, which is now in a rather dilapidated condition after 50 years of use. Further details of the appeal are available on the website.
